Dazzling winger, Fuad Ekelojuoti nodded in the first from close range while sensational dribbler Emmanuel Obinna produced another moment of sheer magic, scoring the second goal with a terrific shot taken with his back to goal, as Stationery Stores of Lagos took a handsome revenge on MFM FC in the Nigerian National League this afternoon.
MFM were brilliant in the first half, displaying some delightfully intricate attacking play, but could not break a very resilient Stores defence anchored by Nnamdi Uche. When Obinna scored the second goal early in the second half, coach Fatai Amoo decided to close shop, bringing out the two scorers and top striker Afefu, and replacing them with Eleazar, Azuka and central defender Daddy.
MFM fought back doggedly, but when a goal seemed certain for them, it was goalkeeper Anthony Okoro that produced an Enyeama-like spectacular to ensure that they returned to Agege empty handed.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS
On this occasion, I found it hard to decide between Fuad’s industry and Obinna’s brilliant goal, so we have two Most Valuable Players (MVPs)!
Super Eagles’ World Cup star Babatunde Michael was there to watch Stores.
